Eating a Large Meal Before Exercising
Posted on:May 13, 2016

When you eat a large meal, before exercising, the main concern is that blood is going to the gut instead of the large muscles, which may cause muscle cramping.  If your preforming a light, recreational sport that doesn’t demand strenuous effort, there should not be problem. If you’re doing some serious exercise, consider eating small amounts of energy-providing food (like a piece of fruit, yogurt or an energy bar) about 20 minutes before the activity.
