As a personal trainer, for a long time, I didn’t like the idea of online training because I thought I wouldn’t be able to deliver results without being able to actually work with a client and ensure correct form and safety. However, with the technology that we have today, such as smartphones, video, ZOOM, Skype, and Facebook, online training really is not much different than regular personal training!
Through You Be Fit Fitness Online, clients have various options to choose from. All levels get access to the Trainerize mobile app, which offers numerous tools that help you keep track of workouts, nutrition, and stats as well as links to video demonstrations all right on your mobile device. From there, you can decide if you want basic program designs that fit your specific goals and needs or more advanced programs that include more accountability and guidance along the way.
We communicate through video, email, and other forms of message, clients keep track of their training, nutrition, and stats on the app, and we always follow up. Clients can skip a workout or cancel a training appointment in the gym, but they can’t ignore the text messages, phone calls, and emails from their online trainer.
I think one of the biggest take-aways for me as a trainer, is the awesome connection between trainer and client that online training offers. I don’t just see a client once or twice a week and send them on their way, we stay connected. I initially thought his program was going to be too intense for me to handle, but with his support and motivation, I have made progress, both mentally and physically. I also thought the food prep and consistent check-ins would be too much but I truly appreciate the accountability each day. Exercises are easy to follow and if unsure of how to perform an exercise the video is there to help you. Easy communication.
