Seven Tips to Reaching Your Fitness Goals
Posted on:Jan 7, 2018

Setting out to make healthy lifestyle changes can feel simultaneously inspiring and intimidating. When it comes to adopting new healthy habits and making them stick, there are lots of little things you can do that will make a big difference in the long run.  Follow these key steps on how effective goal setting can turn your dreams into reality.

Seven Tips To Reaching your Fitness Goals

Does physical activity feels like a chore, then it’s something you’re doing because you feel like you should, not because you want to.

When something feels like a chore, we tend to put off doing it and find any reason to avoid it. It’s going to be pretty hard, if not impossible, to make a chore a sustainable part of your life.

When your exercise depends on your having “enough” willpower or self-control to consistently power through the feeling that exercise is a chore, you’ve chosen a strategy that fails most people.

Because we tend to approach what feels good and avoid what feels bad (unconsciously, outside of our Awareness), our Meaning about physical activity powerfully influences our behavior without our even knowing it.

Decide now to create your definition of success and stop worrying about what the rest of the world thinks.  When you prepare to write down your future goals, ask yourself:

  • What’s really important to me?
  • What’s the purpose of doing this?
  • What am I prepared to give up to make this happen?
  • Ask yourself, “What are the rewards and benefits of this new discipline?” Focus on the exciting new lifestyle you can enjoy by committing yourself now to consistent action.

This thinking process will increase your clarity. It’s critically important that you do this.
