Lifelong Commitment
We’re talking about a lifelong commitment to your health. Let’s call it a lifestyle change.
So let me be honest with you today.
Let’s get something straight. Chronic diseases are the leading causes of death and disability in the United States.
They count for well over half of American deaths and affect the quality of life of almost 100 million Americans.
You really can’t blame anybody else because most chronic diseases are also preventable because they are linked to lifestyle choices.
That’s right it’s all about what you are doing or doing. Like eating too much of the bad stuff and not being active enough.
The main cause of obesity is physical inactivity and an unhealthy diet.
Maintaining a healthy weight is not a “quick fix” and has to be a lifelong commitment to healthy eating habits and regular exercise.
That’s the bottom line. If you want to change it has to be a lifestyle change and a lifelong commitment to your health.
Even a modest amount of weight loss over the long term can improve your health and lower your risk of disease.
So, I gotta be honest with you. Fitness is a lifelong commitment! There are NO quick fixes. It’s all a Process. And you are not going to find it in an infomercial.
You didn’t gain the weight overnight so how do you think you’re going to lose it overnight.
I always say, weight loss is 70% diet, 20% exercise and 10% your genes and I don’t mean the jeans you put on.
Someone asked me the other day; I wanna lose fat around my stomach. Where you lose weight depends on where your body stores fat and also likely on genetics. Which means you can’t target fat loss from specific parts of the body. You may not lose the body fat in the places you want to lose first. Everybody’s body is different, and it decides where it will lose body fat first. There’s no such thing as targeting where you are going to lose body fat.
You will have to be persistent, consistent and have faith in the process and you will get there.
Yes, you will get Frustrated. You will want to give up because you aren’t seeing results fast enough.
It’s all the process. So let’s Stop comparing and start working!
Just Keep the Faith. Don’t Stop and never quit. A lifestyle change means total commitment even when you don’t feel like it.
