Exercising Inside or Outside, which is better?
There are benefits to exercising inside, but there are great benefits to exercising outside that you may not have thought of.
Let’s talk about that today shall we?
You probably all know some benefits of exercising inside like having a controlled environment, you don’t have to worry about the weather and how else are you going to be able to waste time talking to all your friends instead of doing your actual workout 😀
But let’s not forget indoor exercise can be less productive because it can prevent you from having large active calorie-burning movements.
When you are inside you are also dealing with pollutants or environmental toxins in the air from aerosols, detergents, and disinfectants which leave the air stale and low in oxygen. I bet you didn’t think about that.
The benefit of being outdoors is that you are outdoors! You have higher amounts of oxygen, consistently less pollution and more wide-open spaces that allow for bigger more productive movements which will allow you to burn more calories.
So if the weather is nice, go outside, don’t go for the treadmill, go for Speed walk, hit the trails or take a walk around a park, better yet, a park with a lake.
Take off your headphones and listen to Nature. Your music ain’t going nowhere. Save it for the next time you’re inside.
Here’s a tip, by simply consuming more oxygen and swinging your arms and legs in bigger motions, you’ll burn more calories and boost your metabolism for a longer period of time.
Plus, exercising is less predictable outside which causes your body to experience more calorie burn which is an excellent way to speed up your metabolism.
Being outside, you also dips, hills, turns, and obstacles helps you in a speed walk or trail run to burn more calories and strengthen a greater number of muscles and ligaments than on a single-direction, indoor treadmill walk/run.
